Grand Seiko's green watch has always been well loved by everyone, with the 2014 darling Hi-beat 36,000 GMT SBGJ005 winning critical acclaim the minute it was released. And in 2017, the SBGJ227 series continued the winning streak for Grand Seiko. This year, Grand Seiko once again used the colour green for the new SBGW255 watch series, which has always exudes a sense of luxury, generosity and restraint, complementing the concept of Grand Seiko perfectly. Its surface sparkles in a magnificent green jade colour, which fully demonstrates Grand Seiko's unique colour aesthetics, and its texture designs also took cues from the green jade’s natural patterns. The watch is exclusively represented by Thong Sia Sdn Bhd, and is exclusively available in Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore.

Among the jadeites, the green jade is the most rare and priced of them all, which coincides with the reputation of the Grand Seiko King of watches. It not only symbolises honour, the color is also reminiscent of nature and the origin of life, as well as a good harvest. Grand Seiko SBGW255 injects these beautiful metaphors into the watch, especially engraving radial patterns on the jade surface. A green crocodile skin watchstrap complements the watch surface perfectly.

The Grand Seiko SBGW255 is 37.3 mm in diameter, and features a stainless steel case with a mirror-polished finish, as well as a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for a classic look that blends seamlessly with the green surface. The surface layout implements Grand Seiko's pragmatic style, whereas the three-dimensional bar-shaped hour mark is paired with the dauphine pointer. The time is clear and easy to read, with the golden center-second hand is particularly charming on the emerald surface. The back of the watch is inlaid with a see-through window, which clearly reveals the 9S64 mechanical movement inside.

The 9S64 manual winding mechanical movement is designed and developed by Grand Seiko's own Shizukuishi Watch workshop. It has a reliable and practical three-needle time display function, with a new hairspring and a semiconductor MEMS-processed escapement system equipped with an accuracy of +5 ~-3 seconds. The power reserve lasts up to 72 hours, making it practical and durable. In addition to the movement, the Grand Seiko SBGW255 is also assembled by hand in the Shizukuishi Watch workshop, where the production process is meticulous and fully reflects the professionalism of the Japanese staff.
